A number of years ago the VTLSP/SADD Board of Directors and state Advisors created the Partnership Award to recognize individuals who have contributed significantly to the mission and programs of VTLSP/SADD. This year the winner is Bill O'Leary, Retired Vermont State Police Lieutenant.
(award as presented at GYLC by Carol Rose - VTLSP Director)
Bill began his career with the VSP on July 10, 1978, long before many of you were born. In 2002 he took on the role of Traffic Safety Lieutenant.
In this leadership role Bill made teen highway safety issues one of his main priorities. He has been a very committed collaborator with VTLSP events throughout the years.
Bill always provided VTLSP with cruisers and officers for our mock crashes in addition to the BAT Mobile and any other officers we needed.
For both Vermont Youth Summits to Prevent Underage Drinking, Bill participated and provided key officers to speak from their experience on the subject of underage drinking.
For those of you who have attended the Red Ribbon Tree Ceremony and have been impressed at the number of State Troopers that represent VSP, we can thank Bill O'Leary for that show of support.
Bill congratulations on your recent retirement, we will miss you and want you to have this award and a VLTSP Little Hero Bear for a BIG VTLSP Super Hero!

Thanks for being a great partner, Bill!
